Students who wish to enroll in the UCC School of Chiropractic (DC) must present the following:

Applicants must have achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in a college or university accredited by the corresponding US Department of Education accrediting body or an equivalent foreign agency.

The applicant must have a minimum general grade point average of 3.00 or above on a scale where A =4.0 (including all courses taken at college/university level).

The applicant must have a minimum science grade point average of 2.50 on a scale where A =4.0.

Two formal letters of recommendation, one of which must come from a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC), sent to the Admissions Office (See the recommendation form). Recommendation letters from the DC will be accompanied by an evaluation rubric that consist of at least 8 hours of shadowing with the DC.

A personal statement, written in English, establishing why you are passionate about becoming a chiropractor. The statement must have 500 words or less.

A curriculum vitae (CV) written in English.

The interview is in person and by invitation only; we use the modality of Multiple Mini Interview.

All academic requirements must be completed no later than the end of the second semester of the academic year preceding admission.

Applicants must demonstrate fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in both Spanish and English. This is essential since lectures are conducted in either language, even though Spanish is the predominant language of the institution. Furthermore, the required clinical experiences are nearly always conducted in Spanish.
Each student admitted to begin the DCP on the basis of academic credentials from institutions outside the United States must meet the following requirements:

Provide evidence of proficiency in reading and writing English, and an understanding of oral communication in English, commensurate with the level of proficiency expectations established by the DCP for successful completion of the DCP.

Demonstrate academic preparation substantially equivalent to that possessed by students admitted from United States institutions through the validation of credentials by corresponding agencies.

Provide evidence of proficiency in the subject matter of each course for which credits are accepted.

Foreign applicants must submit all required documentation through the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVIS) to meet all legal requirements for study in the United States.

Each student admitted to begin the DCP on the basis of academic credentials from institutions outside the United States must meet the following requirements:
Alternative Admission Track Plan
The Alternative Admission Track Plan (AATP) has been designed according to the accreditation standards of the CCE to allow the admission of candidates to the School of Chiropractic that comply with all requirements of the regular admission with the exception of having a general point average (GPA) equal or superior to 3.0 but having, a general GPA (GGPA) between 2.85 and 2.99 and a science GPA (SGPA) above 2.75. Admitted candidates under this program are required to comply with:
Academic counseling and tutoring program
Psychological supervision
Personal counseling
Students Transferring from Another Institution or Seeking Advanced Standing:

Admissions for transfer students are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

The applicant who is transferring from another chiropractic program to the UCC-SoDC must meet the admissions requirements that were in force at the UCC-SoDC on the date the student originally enrolled in the chiropractic program from which the transfer is being made.

Credits considered for transfer must have been awarded for courses taken in a chiropractic program accredited by the CCE.

Credits accepted for transfer must have been awarded within five years of the date of admission to the UCC SoDC.
