The Alumni Association of the School of Medicine at Universidad Central del Caribe was established in 1996 and has had an active role during the past twenty years. The purpose of the SoM Alumni Association is to strengthen bonds of brotherhood among its members and support the institutional development of their Alma Mater.
Message from the President of the Alumni Association:
Greetings,
My name is Dr. Luis (Lucho) Gandía Mántaras, class of 1981 from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine. This year I was elected again to preside over the Alumni Association of our Alma Mater. It fills me with pride, but at the same time I understand it is a great responsibility that I will assume with the same determination and commitment, as I did a few years ago (2010-11), when I held the same position. The main purpose of our Association is to contribute and strengthen the development of the School of Medicine and in turn offer our members different educational and social events that help us keep our medical knowledge up to date, as well as sharing and fraternizing in social activities. It is important to create in all of us a high sense of altruism to cooperate and help those who helped us achieve our goals of becoming health professionals.
We hope that if you have not yet joined our Association, you will do so as soon as possible, so that in this way you can share and participate in the different activities that we carry out during the year. Some of them are; continuing education events, fundraising social activities, Christmas party, cruise trip where in addition to sharing, you get to know different countries and earn continuing education credits.
Once again, I invite you to belong to the Association and I hope to meet and greet in one of these activities. For more information look for us on social media.
Cordially,
Luis T. Gandia Mantaras, MD
